Good Morning “Make Him Known-ers.” Today we are in Jeremiah 32.
Jeremiah was given The Word of The Lord for those God led him to. He had a choice to make. Be obedient, or not. He obediently gave Judah and her then King Zedekiah - The Word of The Lord. Zedekiah didn’t appreciate being told the Truth. Due to Judahs rejection of God and His Word, Zedekiah’s kingdom was going to be thwarted - and Judah would be taken into Babylon. So, Zedekiah puts Jeremiah in prison.
Tell the Truth… get put in prison. Seems wrong doesn’t it? Or does it? Jeremiah’s consequence may seem “unfair” as it relates to the “Me First” society we live in. Not so much as it relates to Gods economy - them before me.
Remember we are here to glorify God, not elevate ourselves. We are here to put others before ourselves and seek their welfare before ours (Matthew 20:25-28). Gods Truth is not to be kept to ourselves.
If you’re like me, when you read The Bible you might pray “Lord, give me something today and lead me to someone to share it with.” Don’t you think that’s a prayer He wants to answer (John 15:7)? He reveals a deeper understanding of His Word to us, which draws us closer to Him. But He doesn’t simply pour His Word into us so we can be filled and capped off. God reveals His Truth so we can share it with those He leads us to (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8). We are responsible for sharing His revelation. It is why we exist: to know Him and make Him known. THAT’S obedient worship. (Jeremiah 1:1-10, Matthew 22:37-38).
Not to share It after He has revealed it to us… would be disobedient. Jesus is offensive to those that don’t know Him because He stands in direct contradiction to their “Me First”, way of life! That doesn’t mean we don’t share The Truth, because after all - those are the ones that NEED to hear it most (Mark 2:17).
Jeremiah shared The Truth and was judged by Zedekiah for it, but isn’t that better than being judged by God (Matthew 10:28)?
Love you all! Dig in!
