Daniel 4

Good Morning “Living Miracles”.  Today we are in Daniel 4.

Nebuchadnezzar had it coming.  His destruction both because of his harsh treatment of Judah, and his arrogant unrepentant heart was clearly prophesied.  He was a gentile dead set on worshiping his gods, the ones that aligned with what his flesh, and his pride called out for.

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

His dream in this chapter is a foretelling of exactly that.  Despite Daniel’s fear, he faithfully gives Nebuchadnezzar the stern warning provided by his own dream.  Daniel spells out the Mercy and Grace of God.  Repent and be spared.  The easy way or hard way…. God will accomplish His will in and through us all.

It’s easy for us to cheer for Nebuchadnezzar’s destruction.  We love it when God judges evil men.  Caution, careful… each of us sins (Romans 3:23), and the payment required for our sin is death (Romans 6:23)! Apart from Gods Grace through Jesus we have no hope either.

Even an evil gentile king can repent and change his ways.  Shouldn’t we celebrate that even more than his judgment?

Check out vs 34-37 and get a load of Nebuchadnezzar’s confession of faith!  Yes, God is STILL in the business of doing miracles.  Each of us need only to look in the mirror to witness it for ourselves (1 Corinthians 1:18-31).

Love you all!  Dig in!
