Good Morning “Trusting In God Alone.” Today we are in Isaiah 2.
Scripture is black and white - no grey. Check out the incredible contrast in today’s passage. On one side are those that will be blessed unimaginably… and on the other those awaiting fearful judgment. Check out Gods summary of the chapter, through Isaiah…
“Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?”
Isaiah 2:22 NIV
Mere humans includes ourselves! We have zero power to affect our own eternal destiny outside of “Believing” in the finished work of Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5).
Interestingly enough, throughout history, both Jews and Gentiles alike have done exactly the opposite. At different times we have put our trust in everything and everyone other than Jesus. We get it backwards… at times at least.
“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.” Isaiah 53:3 NIV
Isaiah prophesies both the good and bad in store for Israel. Guess what? The same fate awaits all people. “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28 ESV
Those in Jesus are no longer condemned as we once were by default (Romans 8:1).
“Who’s your daddy?” In the end that answer is of little consequence. The real question is “Who’s your Father?”
Love you all! Dig in!
