Psalm 92

Happy Resurrection Sunday!   He is Risen!!! Good Morning “Choosing to Remember and Rest in Him.”  Today we are in Psalm 92.

Life is crazy.  It gets busy, and it gets tough.  It’s easy to get caught up in responsibilities, struggles, work, play - you name it.  It really isn’t any one thing.  The truth is we can become fixated and overly focused, get our priorities out of place - with just about anything.

God knew this would be a problem so He modeled the “day of rest” - The Sabbath.  Don’t think for a second He was tired after creating!  He didn’t break a sweat!  The command is for Gods people to refocus on Him and recharge!  6 days you shall labor (we miss that part too), and on the 7th you shall rest (Exodus 20:8-11).

In the midst of hectic life we must routinely step back, re-evaluate, re-center up on Jesus, remind ourselves of what is truly important and recognize Him as ALL He is.  It is a day to acknowledge He holds it ALL and provides it ALL!

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Lest we make the mistake of believing God only worked this way in the Old Testament, with the Jews - Paul reiterates a similar statement:

“For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We don’t need to work on the 7th day just to provide for our needs.  It’s acknowledgment He does that.  He owns it all and bestows it as He sees fit - as we are obedient (Psalm 50:9-12)

Check out Hebrews 4:9-11, remember Him!  Remember to come together with other followers that we might grow together (Hebrews 10:24).

Love you all!  Dig in!
