Today we finish the Old Testament with Malachi 4.
Judgment is coming… for the wicked… with finality. Suffering - unending. “But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 4:2-3 ESV
I don’t think I have to explain who the Sun of Righteousness is here? Hint… the tomb is empty! He is risen! He is risen indeed! I believe the day Malachi speaks of here, is the same day The Lord showed John in Revelation 19. First He comes back in the clouds to get the church (The Rapture 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Then The Tribulation (Matthew 24:21, John 16:33, Revelation 3:10).
Then Jesus will return to judge the nations… but He’s not alone.
Here’s an excerpt from that passage...
“He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.” Revelation 19:13-15 ESV
This is the only time recorded in Prophecy when those with fear God, will go out with Him, trending down the wicked - when He acts.
I guess the real question we must each ask is do we fear Him? Are we His child? Are we under His protection as described? Only two groups, two sides described here… none in the middle. Which side are you on?
