Good Morning “Kingdom Laborers.” Today we are in Psalm 146.
Many spend their life spinning their wheels aspiring to advance, and seeking to accumulate wealth. At what point is it enough. That’s the problem with the world’s wealth and achievements - it’s never enough. There’s always a promotion to work towards, another dollar to earn, another company to build, another championship to win… and for what exactly? Even kings, at their death are soon forgotten - as are their ambitions.
“When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.”
Psalms 146:4 NIV
Let me be clear. We have a responsibility to care well for our families, as well as others. But, never forget… it is God doing it through us. Don’t miss that. We glorify The Lord with the work of our hands when our hearts are correctly positioned with His (Colossians 3:23-24).
Achieving, accumulating for the sake of glorifying ourselves simply isn’t Biblical. We cannot serve 2 masters (Matthew 6:24). Why not serve to receive reward, and position in Christ that will remain forever?
Consider the Words of Jesus: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
I don’t know about you, but when I stand before Him I want to hear “Well Done”, (Matthew 25:14-30).
Focus on the stuff that lasts!
Love you all! Dig in!
