Psalm 149

Good Morning “Humble Victors.”  Today we are in Psalm 149.

“Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭149‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s not that there was anything wrong with the “old songs”, it’s just that their circumstances had changed.  Once delivered from exile, now Israel looks toward future victory.

We too were once in bondage, slaves… to sin.  Through Messiah Jesus we are now willing slaves to righteousness, ultimately victorious, but faithfully battling against the dark forces of this world (Romans 6:6-22).

It is not by our strength or power, but His alone!  God through His Word provides ALL that we need.  “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Our charge is, and ultimately will end - led by Warrior Jesus.
(Revelation 1:12-16, Revelation 19:15)

The battle wages on daily, but we are not alone (Hebrews 13:5) and we’ve been given the armor and weapons needed to succeed (Ephesians 6:10-18).

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in!
