Good Morning “Still Breathing”. Today we wrap up Ecclesiastes with chapter 12.
As Solomon brings This Book to a close, he does it with summary. Live each day for The Lord! While you still can. That’s pretty much it!
“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”—”
Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV
Now before we attempt to assume Solomon is only talking to children, or teens, or twenty somethings… glean the description of those that are nearing the end of their lives here. Understand as well, that he’s not suggesting we forget The Lord on our death bed, he’s only pointing out the fact that as we begin dealing with the realities of our sin tainted bodies as they age - service to Him becomes more challenging. Yet as long as we’re still breathing we ought be still praising Jesus on this earth… then after - FOREVER in Heaven.
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
Psalms 150:6 NIV
Literally EVERYTHING else, other than loving, praising, and living for The Lord, ACCORDING to His Word is of NO eternal significance - thus MEANINGLESS. In other words it has no meaning, no significance for The Kingdom - for eternity.
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NIV
Love you all! Dig in!
