Good Morning “Not Puffed Up”. Today we are in Romans 15.
As we grow and mature in Jesus it’s easy to get puffed up. Satan rolls in with pride and it sinks in. A little growth and understanding has the potential of creating a “Holier than you” attitude. “Why don’t you get it? When will you get cleaned up and be more like me?”
May we never forget that it’s all Him. He even places the desire for Him our hearts. “What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.”
Romans 3:9-11 NIV
God initiates and even draws us to Jesus in the beginning. We didn’t even want Him… At least not on our own (John 6:44).
Then He begins the work. He grows us up, He works in us, to make us what He wants. He does it ALL (Philippians 1:6).
“For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” 1 Corinthians 4:7 NIV
All that, to say we’re all broken, and in need of Mercy and Grace.
“We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself…”. Romans 15:1-3
Paul had an incredible heart for lost, and an incredible heart for those who were believing but struggling. Is that our heart? Ultimately it’s the heart of Jesus.
There’s more here! Pray for the heart of Jesus.
Love you all! Dig in and live it out!
