1 Corinthians 6

Good Morning “Temple Care Takers.”   Today we are in 1 Corinthians 6.

Nothing new under the sun. Although Paul is addressing issues within the Corinthian church - it’s as if he’s taking to us in our world today.

Remember Jesus plea in the garden the night of His arrest?  He prayed that we might be unified as a body.  The Corinthians were dragging each other and thus Christ through the courts. He starts by addressing that.  Our application - we are Brothers and Sisters in Christ, - work it out (James 4:1-3)!!!

Then he moves on to addressing a whole basket full of sins. If Jesus showed up and wanted to hang out, what would you plan for the day?  Would you still do that?  Guess what?  He is! We are a the temple of The Living God - His Holy Spirit dwells in us (vs 19). When we sin in any way we drag the Holy Spirit with us. Sin is sin… but some are next level.  The worst - sins of the body (sexual sin).   All others are outside the body (vs 18).

ANYTHING goes in our world today, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best God has for us!  That was the case then… it’s still the case today!

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s the expectation not the exception.  It’s expected that we will choose to honor Him with our whole lives Romans 12:1.

Love you all!  Dig in and live it out!
